Signing Ceremony for Financial Counselling Project in Palestinian Territories
The SANAD Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) has agreed to help increase consumer protection services and financial literacy in the Palestinian territories as part of a joint project with the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) and the German agency for international development cooperation (GIZ).
The organizations will support “consumer relations halls,” where experts provide people with advice on various facets of finance such as bank loans and debt reduction. On 15 May, PMA Governor Azzam Shawwa, the German Representative Peter Beerwerth and the Senior Officer of the SANAD TAF, Jacob Ole Nestingen, signed a memorandum of understanding for the project, in Jericho. Shawwa expressed the importance of the project for the PMA and financial consumers in the Palestinian territories.
The SANAD TAF and the GIZ will support workshops for counsellors and new equipment to improve the services the centers provide.
