SANAD Celebrates 10 Years
On Tuesday 5th October, SANAD stakeholders gathered to celebrate 10 years of SANAD. "A Decade of Supporting Entrepreneurship and Employment" showcased SANAD's impact in the MENA and SSA regions over the last 10 years; supporting the economy through financial inclusion, enhancing the space for entrepreneurs, providing a platform for women entrepreneurs and being active in times of crisis.

The event began with opening remarks from SANAD Board Chairperson Dr. Daniela Beckmann, as well as from representatives of important regulatory supporters and investors: Volker Oel, Commissioner for the Middle East/ MENA, South-Eastern and Eastern Europe and Latin America, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ); and Maciej Popowski, Acting Director General of Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, European Commission.
Iveta Tancheva-Nikolova and Uwe Schober shared an overview of SANAD's accomplishments over the last 10 years.
Sarah Hessel, Burcu Karpuz, Zein Albeilani and Mathias Dittrich talked through the highlights of SANAD's 10-year impact report, covering topics including impact and sustainability, agricultural finance, local currency financing and equity financing.
Inspiring guest speakers Mayada El Zoghbi and Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani, shared details on insights and aspirations on "Building prosperity and resilience in an era of uncertainty" and women entrepreneurship.
The event closed with a few friendly words from SANAD's partners: FATEN, Central Bank of Egypt, Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority and Skygarden.
